Excellent instruction from all the coaches. They are knowledgeable and patient, and always willing to walk you through the moves. I've been going to the kickboxing class for about 3 years and I've definitely gained muscles! The best part is that it's still just as fun and challenging as it was when I first started. Never gets old.

Absolute has made a huge impact on my family. Before joining, I was intimidated by kickboxing classes but after one class I realized my fear had no merit - the folks at Absolute are like family now. I am stronger, healthier, more confident and happier than I was before, and I have made some amazing friends. Even on those days I don't want to get off the couch, once I get to the studio my whole attitude is changed and I am pumped. Absolute is always adding new classes, new sessions, and holding events & contests for us to stay engaged. It's been over 4 years for me and it never gets old!

My two sons joined me over a year ago - one in Jiu Jitzu and one in kids class - and both have shown tremendous growth. Ms Ana and the kids class have brought out the best in my 1st grader, teaching him respect, determination and pride in accomplishments. We love Absolute!

Such a fantastic place! The people are so welcoming here, that they take the intimidation out of learning something new, especially as an adult learning - and they really care about teaching you and pushing you to be your best. Martial Arts for Focus

Martial arts test not just the body but the mind and perhaps most of all the will of its students. Its a practice in discipline that can have major benefits in all areas of the student’s life. Here are three ways that martial arts can improve children’s discipline and focus. 

It’s Regimented

It’s sink or swim in the world of martial arts. If the student expresses a willingness to engage with the regimented practices, showing up every day to work hard and improve they do well. If not, they won’t. The dedicated martial artist displays discipline every time they choose a strenuous workout over video games and television.

It’s Hard

There is also no over stressing the benefit that hard work can have for a person. This is particularly true in the case of the children. For many first-time students, martial arts will prove to be more challenging than anything else they have ever done in their lives. 

In order to rise to that occasion, the martial artist must be able to display tremendous discipline and focus. 

As students of martial arts move through the ranks they are, among other things, being evaluated based on their ability to push themselves hard and concentrate on accomplishing something that is very challenging. 

It Comes Recommended By the Experts

Martial arts are so successful at improving focus that they actually come recommended by doctors. This is especially true of children with ADHD or other conditions that inhibit their ability to focus.

Many doctors consider martial arts training to be a good supplementary way to treat ADHD both because it sharply reduces hyperactivity and because it trains the mind to focus for long periods of time. 

The regular exercise that martial arts sessions provide can also help to stimulate the brain, improving memory and strengthening the student’s attention span.
